Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Shane Wolf is one of the few contemporary Masters of figural drawing and painting. After completing a bachelor's degree in graphic design from the University of Cincinnati, Shane was hired by the French ski company Salomon in Annecy, France, as a graphic designer. Nearly 4 years later Wolf packed up and backpacked around the world for 16 months an intense voyage during which he reconnected with his innate passion for fine drawing. In 2005 he began studies at the prestigious Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where he also served as professor of drawing and painting for his remaining 2 years with the academy. Shane works uniquely from the live model and his imagination to create works that seek to honor Humanist values such as they were pursued during the Italian Renaissance, namely that of glorifying the strength and beauty of human form. Through his mastery of classical realist drawing and painting, Wolf has cultivated a proficiency in fine art of the highest caliber and poetic skill.
Shane is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Bronze Medal at the Carrousel du Louvre (2011), Gold Medal at the Salon du Val du Cher (2012), the prestigious "Prix Taylor" at the Grand Palais (2011), Hudson River Fellowship in New York (2008 et 2009) , the Art Renewal Center International Salon, top finalist awards (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), the America China Oil Painting Artists League top finalist (2010) .
